GCD consists of a team of regular writers and editors who are practitioners in making, maturing, and multiplying disciples of Jesus in all of life.

Jonathan K. Dodson (MDiv, ThM) is the founding pastor of City Life Church in Austin, Texas. He is the author of Our Good Crisis, Here in Spirit; Gospel-Centered Discipleship, and The Unbelievable Gospel. He enjoys listening to M. Ward, smoking his pipe, watching sci-fi, and going for walks. FOUNDER
Jeremy Writebol is the lead campus pastor of Woodside Bible Church in Plymouth, MI and the Executive Director of Gospel-Centered Discipleship. He is the author of Pastor, Jesus is Enough (Lexham Press), everPresent: How the Gospel Relocates Us in The Present (GCD Books) and a contributing author to several other publications. Benjamin Vrbicek is the lead teaching pastor at Community Evangelical Free Church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He earned a degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of Missouri and a masters of divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary. He is coauthor of Blogging for God’s Glory in a Clickbait World and author of Don’t Just Send a Resume and Struggle Against Porn. He writes regularly on his blog.
MANAGING EDITOR
Erin Jones is the social media coordinator for GCD. After nearly a decade teaching in the humanities, she is now a freelance writer and founder of Galvanize and Grow Copywriting. She lives in Maryland, where she enjoys involvement in music ministry at Fourth Presbyterian Church, as well as participating in local theater and opera productions. Rob Bentz is the lead campus pastor of Woodside Bible Church in White Lake, Michigan. He is the author of The Unfinished Church: God's Broken and Redeemed Work-in-Progress. Rob received his master of divinity degree from Reformed Theological Seminary. He began his writing career with Sports Spectrum magazine where he wrote feature articles, columns, and devotionals for ten years. Rob and his wife Bonnie have two children.

Vicki Bentley is a Scottish native who now lives in upstate New York with her husband and two young daughters. She is an associate editor for Torn Curtain Publishing and writes regularly on faith, anxiety, and neurodiverse parenting. As a writer and editor, it is her greatest joy to cultivate and shape words that speak transformative grace-filled truth into the hearts and lives of others. Lainee Oliver lives in North Alabama with her husband and two children. She studied Public Relations and English at Auburn University and cares deeply about the local church. Lainee enjoys putting to work her love for reading, writing, and editing in the margins of full days at home with her children.

Hilary Nelson majored in English at Wheaton College and then went on to a career as a physician assistant. Her experience of moving multiple times over the years has informed her desire to promote intentional and authentic, Christ-centered community within the local church. She currently lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, son, and two dogs.

Timarie Friesen leads the GCD Writers’ Guild and enjoys connecting writers with resources. She writes short stories and articles and works as an editor of fiction for a small publisher. She and her husband, Mark, live in northern Iowa with their three children and are active at Hope Church.
