Develop a Framework for Gospel-Centered Discipleship

Are you a leader looking to help your church thrive in making disciples? How can a church take seriously Jesus’ charge to “teach them to obey all that I have commanded”? In this cohort you will learn from GCD founder Jonathan Dodson’s decades-rich experience in leading, coaching, and implementing gospel-rich discipleship in the local church. You can expect a blend of instruction and coaching in each session that contain helpful content, key questions for implementation, and time for Q&A. You will emerge with a guiding document for ministry improvement and application.

Through six live Zoom-call sessions, Jonathan will lead you through the development of a framework for robust, biblical, gospel-centered discipleship in your local church.

Jonathan K. Dodson is the founder of Gospel Centered Discipleship, pastor, and author of several books including the award-winning The Unbelievable Gospel: Say Something Worth Believing, Gospel-Centered Discipleship, Here in Spirit, and Our Good Crisis.

He has been developing leaders with a heart for gospel discipleship for over thirty years.

Schedule

  • This session will provide a biblical, gospel-centered definition of discipleship to guide your ministry. Additionally, it will help you adapt this definition to guide ministry in your local context.

    March 26 at 3pm EST

  • This session will outline the three key environments for discipleship in the local church. Additionally, it will help you assess each environment in your ministry for growth.

    April 2 at 3pm EST

  • This session will establish what theological formation is and provide examples of how to foster it in environment #1 in the local church. Additionally, it will help you assess how to best do theological formation in your context.

    April 9 at 3pm EST

  • This session will make a case for relational holiness in environment #2, addressing the what, how, and why of discipleship groups. We will consider obstacles and opportunities for implementation.

    April 16 at 3pm EST

  • This session will focus on the missional aspect of discipleship in the life of everyday disciples. Additionally, it will help you foster faithful presence in environment #3 for fruitful mission.

    April 23 at 3pm EST

  • This session will provide you with some wisdom for discipleship ministry, help you evaluate your plan for discipleship, and include Q&A.

    April 30 at 3pm EST
